Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Café is located in Elizabeth Town, in the rural Meander Valley.

The café is set amongst beautiful, lush grounds, that comprise a lake, manicured lawns, alfresco dining area, picnic/recreation area and raspberry orchard.


Dogs are permitted on the deck area of the café and in all other outdoor areas of the property.


The menu offers a wide selection of sweet and savoury all day breakfast favourites, savoury main meals, impressive desserts and a large range of hot and cold drinks (including raspberry-based alcoholic beverages).

The menu changes with the seasons and it's probably no surprise to hear that raspberries feature heavily, but tastefully, in many of the dishes. We are guilty of having a sweet tooth (okay, probably all of our teeth are sweet!) so our focus was dessert.

We indulged in fluffy pancakes adorned with raspberries, raspberry ice cream, warm raspberry sauce and double cream, warm scones with raspberry jam and double cream and comforting cinnamon spiced apple syrup dumplings, served with vanilla bean ice cream, berries and double cream.




Accompanied by our pampered pooch, we sat on the outdoor deck, which had a glorious view of the lake/grounds and had gas heaters, so we were lovely toasty warm on an otherwise chilly spring day. 


The food was absolutely delicious, but for me, the highlight of the meal was the 'raspberry fizz', a tangy and refreshing drink of blended raspberry sorbet and raspberries, topped with lemonade and soda which would be perfect on a warm, summer's day.


After enjoying an indulgent meal, make sure you stroll around the grounds of the property and check out the docile resident alpacas.

  Drift Away Organic Shack is a peaceful retreat for two located in Police Point, approximately 73km south of Hobart. Ideal for a couple, this cute studio has stunning views of the Huon River. The shack is located on the owner's residential property, but as the main house is set well behind the shack, the house and its inhabitants go unnoticed. Aløft is located on the top level of the Brooke Street Pier on Hobart's beautiful waterfront. Situated at the end of the pier, Aløft has spectacular views of the River Derwent. It has both fine dining and funky vibes but we found that as the evening progressed, the atmosphere became more intimate. The expansive windows at the front of the restaurant allow diners to take in the view however if you'd prefer to watch the chefs in their element, you can sit around the open kitchen and watch them create. Aløft offers a nine course chefs menu which takes your tastebuds on a Tasmanian adventure.
