Hog's Breath Cafe is located in the historic Gasworks site near Hobart's waterfront area.

Known for its huge dining room, vibrant colours and incorporation of the word 'hog' wherever possible, this restaurant serves up some seriously delicious grub.

The Hoggies menu has something for everyone - tasty hog-etisers such as salt and pepper calamari and loaded potato skins and mouthwatering mains including steaks, burgers, wraps and even salads.

Good steaks can be hard to come by in restaurants, but we personally have had some of the best steaks at Hoggies. The kitchen staff are experts at cooking the steaks to pink, succulent perfection, while still achieving that wonderful chargrilled taste. 

Whatever you choose from the menu, make sure you get some of the Hog's curly fries - they're the perfect combination of deep-fried, seasoned potato-y goodness and frivolity.

The portion sizes are ginormous and the meals are very filling, so fellow dessert lovers beware - if you want to indulge in dessert, don't go crazy when ordering hog-etisers and mains!

With a combination of chairs and tables and large and small booths (everyone loves a booth), this restaurant is the perfect place to cater for a large group, whether it be family functions, sporting group celebrations or silly season get-togethers.

  Drift Away Organic Shack is a peaceful retreat for two located in Police Point, approximately 73km south of Hobart. Ideal for a couple, this cute studio has stunning views of the Huon River. The shack is located on the owner's residential property, but as the main house is set well behind the shack, the house and its inhabitants go unnoticed. Aløft is located on the top level of the Brooke Street Pier on Hobart's beautiful waterfront. Situated at the end of the pier, Aløft has spectacular views of the River Derwent. It has both fine dining and funky vibes but we found that as the evening progressed, the atmosphere became more intimate. The expansive windows at the front of the restaurant allow diners to take in the view however if you'd prefer to watch the chefs in their element, you can sit around the open kitchen and watch them create. Aløft offers a nine course chefs menu which takes your tastebuds on a Tasmanian adventure. The cuisine could be described as modern Australian showcasing the best seasonal Tasmanian produce with Asian influences. We adored the chefs menu.
