Sault Café

Sault Café is located in Moonah, approximately 6km north of Hobart.

This unassuming suburban café serves tasty, simple, satisfying food and offers great value for money.

All of the usual favourites are available for breakfast - eggs, omlettes, toasties, pancakes and waffles.

The smashed avocado with poached eggs on grain toast, Mexican salsa, balsamic glaze, beetroot relish and feta was delicious and colourful - the perfect balance of sweet and salty.

There are plenty of sides you can add to your base meal of eggs on toast, so we added bacon and smoked salmon to runny poached eggs - a delicious combination.

You can tailor your pancakes and waffles to suit your tastes and appetite. For a sweet dish, you can add ice cream, whipped cream, fruit and/or sauces (such as chocolate sauce, maple syrup, strawberry sauce or caramel sauce). If you're in the mood for something savoury, you can add eggs, bacon, smashed avocado, halloumi cheese, smoked salmon, mushrooms, roast tomatoes, beans, sausage and/or hash browns with relish or hollandaise sauce.

If you're after something more substantial for lunch or dinner, there are plenty of dishes to choose from, such as burgers, schnitzel, steak, braised pork belly, 12 hour braised lamb.

The shaking beef with chips and salad was a tasty mix of sweet yet mildly spicy braised beef with capsicum and onion.

The schnitzel with gravy, chips and salad was cooked well - the outer crumb was golden and crispy, while the chicken was still moist on the inside.

The milkshakes at Sault are amazing - their monster shakes are a meal in themselves and a complete indulgence!

If you're looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite to eat that serves quality ingredients at reasonable prices, make sure you drop into Sault Café.
