Woodbridge Village Emporium

Woodbridge Village Emporium is a quaint café, providore and giftshop located in Woodbridge, approximately 36km south of Hobart.

The café serves breakfast and lunch, as well coffee, sweets and takeaway. The menu offers some really interesting and tasty dishes, including some vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Whether you're a local or a traveller passing by, Woodbridge Village Emporium makes for a great place to stop and have a nourishing meal, pick up some local produce and take home some pastries, cakes or ready to eat meals.

All of the meals are generously portioned, tasty and great value for money.

The smashed avo on toast with poached eggs and whipped feta was a pleasure to eat for breakfast. It was accompanied by pickled beetroot and beetroot relish which added a pop of colour and acidity. There was plenty of avocado on the plate and all of the flavours worked well together.

The french toast with mixed berries, maple syrup and chai butter was beautiful to look at and eat. The combination of macerated and fresh berries added freshness and sweetness, without being overly sweet, and the chai butter was magical.

The classic poached eggs on toast with bacon did not disappoint. The poached eggs were perfectly oozy.

For lunch we enjoyed fillet of beef wellington with salad. The beef eye fillet was individually cooked in its own flaky cocoon. The beef was juicy and tender and the pastry was superb. The jus was rich in taste and colour and perfectly complemented the beef wellington. The salad added freshness to cut through the richness of the dish.

We also feasted on grilled chicken skewers with hummus and salad. The chicken was tasty and well cooked and was the perfect vessel to mop up the delicious hummus. The salad brought the whole dish together by adding freshness and texture. It's great to see a café putting just as much care into their side salads as they do with the star of the dish.

The cakes and slices were fresh and delicious. The scones, jam and cream were light and there was plenty of jam and cream. The raspberry jam had a tangy kick and was clearly homemade.

We also took home some pecan pie, carrot cake and orange and almond cake, which were moist and moreish.

We highly recommend a visit to this little gem - you'll love the food, gifts and local produce.
