The Bridport Café
The Bridport Café serves breakfast, lunch and snacks and the food tastes as sensational as it looks.
Indoor and outdoor seating is available and dogs are welcome to join their humans in the outdoor area.
The café is positioned in the main street of Bridport and overlooks the village, park and water. It's a great spot to sit back and enjoy the view or people watch.
The café has a constant stream of dine-in and takeaway customers, which is a testament to the great food and service.
All of the food that we ate was delicious, but we particularly loved the breakfast meals.
The Bridport Hash Stack was an impressive tower of crunchy hash browns, baby spinach, house relish, bacon and fried egg, stacked high and drizzled with a smooth and creamy hollandaise sauce.
The poached eggs on toasted sourdough with spinach was a really tasty dish. The perfectly cooked golden yolks oozed across the crispy sourdough when we sliced them with a knife. We added bacon and haloumi for a scrumptious, salty hit.
The ham and cheese croissant was a tasty, but lighter breakfast option and the spinach added some freshness to the dish.
Although pancakes were only featured on the kids menu when we visited, it was no trouble for the chef to make an adult-sized portion, just for us.
The pancakes were light and fluffy and served with strawberries, banana, ice cream and maple syrup.
The drinks were amazing, in fact during one of our visits DJ discovered his love for vanilla chai lattes with a shot of mint syrup. He said it was like Christmas in a cup!
The chocolate milkshakes were chocolatey, creamy and generously served in the large silver vessel they were made in. The strawberry yoghurt smoothie was thick and creamy - an absolute delight and one of the best smoothies we've had the pleasure of tasting.
For lunch we had the seafood chowder which was creamy and garlicky and packed full of local scallops, salmon, fish, squid and prawns.
We also had a chicken, cheese and mayonnaise toasted sandwich which was simple, but satisfying. The ample serving of melted cheese and mayonnaise ensured the toastie was lovely and moist.
The BBQ brisket burger was bursting with ten hour braised beef brisket, slaw, melted tasty cheese, red onion, dill pickles with a housemade special sauce. The brisket was tender and juicy and the beer battered chips were heavenly.
The next time you're in Bridport, stop by the busiest eatery in town and have a wholesome meal.
